Entry # 39 Day 30

It’s funny I new that Oct 9th made it officially one month into the trip, I was going to make mention of it in my Blog but the number of days didn’t match up, so I went back and checked and found that I had 2 day 18’s and 2 day 19’s, I was going to fix the mistake but I think I will leave it till the trips over. It will be a nice little reminder that I am not the sharpest tool in the shed. Speaking of not being to bright I don’t think pedaling into 20 -30 MPH headwinds all day was such a good idea.

I left early hoping to miss any of the bands from the Hurricane but I didn’t leave early enough, started out good. Maybe if hadn’t stopped to take so many pictures I could have covered a little more ground before the winds and rain started.

I stopped here for lunch, needed a break and was hoping to find some shark teeth to bring home to the Grandkids, guess I will have to buy some and then I can tell the kids I had to wrestle a shark to get them. I love messing with the Grandkids they’re fun.

I had Ponce De Leon watch my bike for me.

Saw a few cool sites, like a turtle digging a hole, you can only watch that so long before you get bored.

I was getting tired averaging only 9MPH, I was going to stop at campground but they wanted 50 dollars for a tent site, that tent site would have to look like this for me to pay that. So i pushed on for another 8 miles to get to St Augustine.

Stopped here for a quick sip of water, it made me feel like a new man.

(If you can’t read the sign it says Fountain Of Youth)

The Old St Augustine is a cool town, on the return to list.

Stopped to have a beer and listen to an awesome guitar player.

While I was in the bar I met Doug, he is riding his bike from Boston To Naples FL. He made me laugh when he said he went on a huge detour just to avoid going into Jacksonville.

Took a picture of this sign for my wife.

My parking spot while I was in the bar, thought you might like the picture Pat. Too bad the trash can photo bombed it.

Once I got the ok from the lions I crossed the bridge and headed for Anastasia State Park.

You just can’t climb every lighthouse, maybe next time and yes Hon those are nice hand painted pottery vases.

I didn’t stop in here because I want to take the wife to see this, she just loves it when I bring her to these cool places.

I put up a tarp so I could eat my dinner without getting rained on, the rain makes the bread soggy.

The beach here is nice.

The campground section feels like I am camping in Jurassic Park.

I might have just found dessert for tonight?? They sure look delicious.
