Entry #37 day 28
Woke up early this morning hoping that I might just make it to Florida, its surprising how much crossing into a new state can energize you. Grabbed my free waffles in the hotel lobby, I now give other hotel guests free lessons on using the waffle maker, i’m Getting pretty good at making waffles.
Oh yah and grabbed a piece of fruit for the ride, there are some good points to staying in a hotel.
The winds were blowing hard today, I had a tail wind for the first hour so I was averaging about 17 MPH, and then the wind shifted and I dropped to about 9 MPH for the rest of the day. This was my scenery for about 40 miles.
Until you would come up to a sprawling Metropolis like this.
I think this store stopped selling Coke products when it closed during the Great Depression.
Finally a funny sign, you can tell its closed because it says shut....if it was open it would say Mon In.
Did almost 4 miles on this dirt road, this gives you a lonely feeling.
I took these pictures of my bikes “Beausage” which is a word that means beauty from usage...look it up its a real made up word, I guess all words are made up with the exception of words like Moo and quack and achoo.
Today’s cooking lesson, if the can of soup says condensed it means you have to add water, who would have thought that i needed to read the label on how to make soup but if you warm it up without the water you can always dump a little beer in like I did, It kind of tastes like vegetable soup then. I really should just bring a waffle iron if I ever did a trip like this again. This is why I never cooked in the firehouse. Speaking of cooking soup and fire safety, never leave Alphabet soup cooking on a stove unattended, it could spell “Disaster.”
Did 62 miles today, staying in a KOA campground about 1 mile from the Florida Georgia line, sounds like a good name for a band. I hope to get far enough south tomorrow to avoid any affects from the latest hurricane. Also there is another biker staying in this campground that peddled here from New Mexico, which means I am officially the second craziest person in the campground.
