Entry #31 day 22

This is Ronnie he was my host for last night, Ronnie is a retired Firefighter of 30 years in Wilmington  NC and also 30 Plus years with Carolina Beach FD. Ronnie allowed me to set up my tent in his back yard, in the morning while I was packing up my bike Ronnie told me that I was one tough SOB, This comment meant so much to me coming from Ronnie, this man had built the roof  over the patio behind him in this picture, he built the roof with only the use of One leg, he had to pull himself up the ladder using only his arms, from a man that tough I took his comment to heart, thank you

I had a coffee and ate some of the food that people had donated to the station for breakfast, sometimes I am amazed that I have no shame. I said my good byes and especially thanked Deputy Buddy, I asked him to let the chief know that I appreciated the hospitality.

The weather was beautiful all day long, and I could not believe how many people fish at 830 AM, I guess fish have a breakfast time too and these people know when it is.

I liked these trees, can you imagine them at Halloween.

Here is some road kill you don’t see a lot. You never hear the joke why did the fish cross the road?

Waiting to get on the ferry and here I am on the ferry crossing the Cape Fear river, such a cool name for a river.

Hey Doug I am going to look for treasure on Oak Island....how funny would it be if those guys up north were on the wrong Oak Island and I found the treasure......are you still watching that show?

Somebody took a picture of me camping on the Outer Banks and used it on a billboard.

Hey thanks for messing up this sign they are tough enough to follow and what’s with the ice cream cone with the two scoops side by side instead of on top of each other.

Yesss one more state closer, at least here they don’t have to burn their headlights when it rains.

You might not be able to tell from this picture but I think the budget for the state of SC highway department is about 539 dollars, just enough money to pay for the Governor to get his driveway seal coated, these roads have no shoulders and I was almost hit by a 5th wheel trailer, it pushed me off the road and into the grass, I hope the roads get better further South.

Pictures for the Grandkids, I hope my son Jay is sharing these pictures with them, I figure if I did not stop to take all these pictures I might be in Key West by now.There are so many Mini golf courses down here, I bet the PMGA is located down here.

I think I might have changed my mind about buying the Planters peanuts car, instead i might buy this sporty little number, I would have made an offer but the dealership seemed a little fishy.
