Entry #22 day 15

Last night was a lousy night, I was camping at the Chickahominy river park and the rain rolled in around midnight followed shortly by the thunder and lightning. I had left my stove and lighter on the picnic table so I was unable to make breakfast. I packed all my wet gear onto the bike and peddled 8 miles away to St Bede church, in the parking lot to quote Johnny Cash “ I put on my cleanest dirty shirt” and I splashed on some Stetson cologne, good to go. I could not believe how nice people dress for church down here, so I found a seat next to a guy wearing a Hawaiian shirt and shorts, I thought he could take some of the pressure off me. The Boys scouts were selling pop corn and nuts in the lobby, I was hoping for a pancake breakfast not a 12 dollar can of nuts.

I jumped on the Jamestown Ferry to Scotland, not as long as you would think it would take to go to
Scotland.

When you see an identical ferry going in the opposite direction, I wonder how many people think of that scene in The Batman movie “Dark Knight” it can”t be just me.

When I got to the other side of the James River I had half a bottle of Gatorade, no water in my Camelback, no food not even a 12 dollar can of nuts that I should of bought from the Scouts.
I saw fields full of peanuts that I couldn’t eat which hit me as ironic and I saw fields full of cotton which was pretty cool, not sure if I ever saw that before. It was about 15 miles before I found a store of any kind.

I ended up on this of railroad bed, you could hear shooting all around, and the mud on this trail was so slippery, it would have been fun if I wasn’t worried about breaking my collarbone on a stupid fall.

Found this ball of cotton on the road, I picked it up and felt it, just what I thought, it felt just like a cotton ball but with seeds in it.

I’m not a Mason but I think I know what’s wrong with this guy’s chimney.

Getting ready for the Great Dismal Swamp Tommorow.

What the?????

My home for the night in Suffolk VA, its not the Hilton but they let me do this.
